A new lead.

Kole was confused. This girl perplexed him to no end, and since confusion was such a rare state for him to be in, he was trying to figure out the proper way to handle the odd facts that seemed to point in several different directions when a soft knock at the door interrupted his ponderings.  Kole got up to answer it.  He looked through the spyhole and saw the seer Celia lurking right outside, staring straight into the spyhole, face only a foot away from the lens, as if knowing that Kole was looking at her. Kole mused for a second of just leaving her outside there. He was in no state to talk to her, but if she came over, then it must be something of importance. Kole opened the door and gestured for her to come inside.
Celia stepped past the threshold and walked straight into the living room. “I felt as if I was needed here.” She said. “I feel the forces and energies, they are moving faster than I thought.”  Her ragamuffin dress swayed slightly with each step.
“You said that you couldn’t see into the future that clearly last time we spoke.” Kole stated.
“That is true, but I don’t need to see into the future accurately to sense the oncoming feeling of doom. Something big is going to happen soon and other events are coming into fruition. I have no clue what, but this sense of doom has been growing stronger ever since you last talked with me.”
“So you have no new information?” Kole asked.
“Actually, yes.” Celia said. “Although a lot of the future is hazy to me, I have been able to make out some conflict that will occur with Shera in the near future. Keep an eye on her.”
“I will keep that in mind.” Kole said. “Anything actually on the demon?”
“I was getting to it.” Celia shushed him. “I have located the body of Cathburne.”
                “Body?” Kole queried
“Yes.” Celia started to pace up and down the room, every part of her flowing into the rhythm of her footsteps. “While you were at the funeral, I was deep in trance, attuning myself to universe, when I saw a location far out in western Massachusetts where I saw his body lying in a ditch in the middle of the woods. I just retrieved it two days ago and have been using preserving magic on him to preserve not only his body, but lingering energies the body might have. If I can perform that reading, then you might be able to see a few moments leading up to his death”
“Why did you choose to get the body? None of this concerns you.”
Celia snorted, turned around and faced him strait in the eyes, actual concern showing in her eyes. “If you have been feeling this sense of danger too, you would not ignore any vision that you manage to get.”
Kole thought for a moment He didn’t want any outside interference. As useful as Celia was, she wasn’t Council and therefore an interloper. The Council liked keeping things private and internal and by seeking the help of the seer on multiple occasions on one case was bound to bring up complications at a later date, which would cause even more unwanted problems. “Why did you not perform the reading already?”
“I have tried to perform a reading on his body, but unfortunately I need some help on this.” Celia looked down, as if it was a mark of shame that she couldn’t. “The body had been dead and what little of the bodies memories and energies  that remain are weak and unless acted upon soon, not even my preserving magic will hold it. If we are going to get anything from the body, it will need to be tonight.”
“Fine.” Kole said, resigning himself to her involvement. “Who do you need to aid you with the reading?”
Celia smiled a bit. “If I remember correctly, you have a Terrow working under you. They are naturally sensitive and incredibly good at magical finesse.”
“If you need him, then I will send him to your shop along with the rest of my coworkers, myself included. I think this is something that we all will need to see.” Celia’s smile faltered a bit. Kole remembered the fact that she and Tibias were not on the best of terms after he unsuccessfully tried to woo her a few years back. Now that Kole thought of it, he could only think of maybe one or two women that Tibias had not tried to woo. They were interrupted from a thump that came from Kole’s guest room where Carahya was being held.
Celia’s gaze darted over towards the door. “Do you have company?” She asked with a curious expression on her face.
“Of a sorts.” Kole said. “Council business.” He shrugged.
Celia raised an eyebrow but didn’t question him. Kole gave her credit that she was smart enough to not pursue the subject despite her extreme curiosity. She turned her attention back to him. “Very well, I will get preparations ready.” She pulled out an old battered cell phone and checked the time on it. “I will see you all there in eight hours then. “ She turned to go.
Kole spoke up. “Go by the office to and alert my workers to the plan as well.” He gestured to the guest room door. “I’m occupied at the moment with my business.”
“I was heading there to do just that.” She gave him another knowing smile before turning back and walking to the door. As she walked through, she suddenly turned around. “By the way, do you have any further knowledge of that vision I saw of you smiling?” She shuddered a bit, obviously unnerved by the visions memory.
“Not at the moment.” Kole said. “I will see you tonight.” He closed the door and went back into the living room. There were a few more thumps coming from the guest room door, but Kole wasn’t worried. The room was reinforced with charms that wouldn’t allow even an elite of Watchforce from leaving.  Kole sat back and went back to his attempt of piecing things together, and with the new knowledge of Cathburne’s corpse, there were brand new factors to consider. It was going to be a long eight hours. Kole waited another half hour for the thumping to die down and went to re-enter the  guest room and visit it’s occupant.
